It seems superb value for money, how will it fare as time goes on? I don’t know for sure, but I’d think pretty well. However, the instrument itself, I am delighted with. Playing wise, I’m amazed, my previous instrument was an early Besson Prestige, and before that a sovereign 967, I found the 274 at least equal re ease of playing, I won’t delve any further in that direction as I’ve not played properly for around 6 years, so don’t really feel qualified to comment too much.

Quirky lock down cap on the 4th valve, don’t like that very much, but it’s a very minor point, just alien to what I’m used to, I’ll get used to it no doubt. The instrument itself, I’ve had a bit of time to look at it, can’t fault it finish wise, plating etc., brilliant. Received my jp274 today, first impression, opening the box, the case is good, similar to the brown Besson hard plastic cases, opening the case, it’s all a bit backwards to what I’m used to, the orientation of the instrument in the case is a mirror image of what I’d consider the norm, not a criticism, just a comment.
